Setting Up Equipment

When the Projector Rental or Laptop Rental arrives hooking them up for a presentation can sometimes be tricky. Rentech Solutions is here to assist you. It is best to hook a Laptop to a Projector when the units are both turned off. Once they are hooked together and ready to go it is best to power up the Projector first and let it warm up for about a minute. Then turn on the Laptop. Projectors are generally programmed to recognize a video signal coming into the unit and will automatically switch the input over for use. If this does not work, most Projectors have an input button on the top of the unit. Try switching through the inputs to see if you can find the video signal. If that still does not work then on the Laptop locate your function button ( fn located on the left side of the keyboard ) and hold this button down while pressing the F key above the numbers.

The proper F key usually will show a picture of a monitor or it will say lcd, mon or crt in the same color lettering that the function key is in. This information will depend on your Laptop not all Laptops are the same. Keep pressing the proper F key until your Laptop image is both projecting from the Projector and still on the Laptop screen. Please note sometimes you may have to press the F key several times to get the desired result and remember to hold down the function key while doing this. You will need to hook up the 15-pin vga cable for video and the usb cable to both units to use the Projector remote for a wireless mouse or remote to advance the presentation.
